God damn, America!
I’m usually one to be all cynical and curmudgeonly, and generally down about things, but then you go and do something like you did tonight.
God damn, America! You’re not mostly brain dead! You’re not mostly insane! You’re alive! You’re trying to live up to what you’re supposed to be! Fuckin’ A! I don’t think I’ve ever felt so good about “America” and all the ideas for which it potentially stands as I do tonight. God damn, America, you done good tonight, you done real good.
Edit, some minutes later: I’m linking to this metafilter thread: Metaffilter Thread about Obama’s victory in 2008 as a lot of people in there are expressing similar sentiments.
